RE: Psychology of Loneliness

in Project HOPE5 years ago

Dear @samminator

Finally I managed to find some time and catch up with reading previously bookmarked publications.

I was wondering - would you think that there is something wrong with peson, who never feels lonely? I'm one such a person and I believe I'm not the only one out there who feels the same way.

When I'm close to people I like - I enjoy their company. However being on my own is working also great for me. I never seem to miss people, never seem to feel lonely. At the same time it's not like I mind people and avoid them.

Sometimes I'm wondering - how does it feel to be lonely. Even when I'm completely on my own, in foreign country, far from friends and family - I do not experience that feeling. My wife keep telling me that something is wrong with me. That perhaps I'm not human and I'm just a ROBOT :P

Many people on social media tend to live a fake life and other people following them will tend to feel they are not up to par in terms of standards and status

Very true. Instagram is like DEMO of our own lifes. We only show the best parts of it to the world. We create imagine which is far from reality.

Solid read, upvoted already,
Yours, Piotr

Thanks for the comment buddy. Actually, there are always exceptions when it comes to this kind of subject matter. It is possible to be alone and not feel lonely. Subconsciously, you may be feeling the company of someone that is miles away but in the real sense, you are alone. This is why I made mention that being alone does not correlate to being lonely.

Thanks for dropping by buddy. Apologies for the late response
