Indifference As An Entrepreneur

When you're an entrepreneur and you have to make personal decisions on which businesses or investments, you'll like to get into; you can't allow anyone's opinion on your final decision easily put you into confusion. Especially when you believe in what you're doing. You have to have a mind of your own.
Many entrepreneurs are lacking in that aspect - they care too much what everyone else is doing and thinks about what they're doing. The fact is that if you have a brand new powerful idea, only few people are capable of understanding you. They'll most likely tell you that it's impossible, what you're planning to do.
In most cases, they're not intentionally trying to destroy your dreams or ideas - the fact is that they put their own personal fears on you. They feel that they're incapable of doing that thing you're planning to do, and in their minds, they're probably thinking that they're doing you a favor, by telling you to forget that big idea you have.

Hence, it's up to you to make up your mind on what you want to do as an entrepreneur; after appropriate investigation. When you feel something strongly, and you have done studies to back up your believe, you have to go with it. And be indifferent about what anyone else thinks about it. You just have to believe in yourself more.
But you must always be open to listen to what anyone has to say. I'm not recommending you shut your ears to everyone after making up your mind. I'm only saying that you listen to them - but except they have some very solid information, you stick with your idea. You can't care about what everyone thinks as an entrepreneur, you only have to care about the facts.

Opinions are a very important thing, because you have to go through a good filter what people say to avoid getting into uncomfortable situations, in which no one would want to be.
If we are going to listen to someone, let it be someone who has knowledge on a specific topic, it is useless to listen to people who have no idea what they are talking about, but more important than this, is to have a good degree of training and intelligence to form our own criteria.

Maybe when you feel something strongly and you have done studies to back up your belief, you have to accept it, for as you rightly say, somehow accepting allows us to be able to transcend into greater achievements.
