Many times people make the mistake of relating with the person that doesn't have the power, and yet they want the best. It's more difficult to get the exact thing that you want when you're not dealing with the person that you should be dealing with.
There are cases when business people waste so much time on a deal, because they're not dealing with the right person. It becomes important, that when you get somewhere and you want to get something done and fast, you should simply ask - who's in charge.
The problem with dealing with someone who's not in charge is that, they'll have to make you wait in order to get in contact with the person in charge. That fiction in communication between you and the person in charge can really slow down the work you have to do a times.

Another reason why it's important you're in direct contact with the person who has the power to give you what you want is that - when messages are passed from one person to another, there's usually that tendency of it losing some of the emotions and content.
But if you're face to face with the person that can provide you with what you need - you can actually look at their eyes and body language; and get clues of how to convince them more. And if you're able to deal, everything is instantly settled. There's no wasting time.

Definitely that not dealing with the right person will waste time or run the risk of information not arriving or not arriving as it should. You have to prepare very well to cover the most important points and look for information and ways to contact the person you are looking for specifically, you have to be planned.
Can you imagine saying everything you need and want to say and it turns out that person is not the one you needed? As you say, time and effort is wasted. The best thing to do is to go straight to whoever is in charge. The advantages are enormous.

Greetings my friend, no doubt in any company or institution we must follow the regular channels according to the labor organization it has, now it would be a great advantage to hold our conversations with the person in charge, we would avoid wasting time and unnecessary bureaucratic processes.
