What will be the fate of Bitcoin and Altcoin in the future?
Digital currency or better known as cryptocurrency is very warmly accepted by Indonesians. Cryptocurrency forums and Facebook Groups are scattered everywhere. Eventually, more millennials will jump into cryptocurrency. Who used to play forex, they will move to cryptocurrency like Bitcoin.
Cryptocurrency is very volatile, prices can go up 'like a rocket' and can also 'skydive'. However, not a few people who can get wealth directly or indirectly from cryptocurrency.
What is the future of cryptocurrency? Will they become extinct in the next few years?
The answer is that no one knows, but I can be sure the technology behind them will not be destroyed and might be better. Blockchain technology will become very common. Small to large companies will use this new breakthrough technology.
People who are speculative about Bitcoin or altcoin will be in the wrong position in the crypto market, losing their assets because they put all their assets in this digital asset.
If you are now in this position, you better sell your Bitcoin when prices are high and save fiat money to invest in land or gold. Because these physical assets have real value, while Bitcoin is more a gamble or a gamble (if you don't read charts or news).
Note: The price of cryptocurrency is very volatile and the Indonesian government has not provided specific rules for this investment. Everyone playing cryptocurrency must be prepared to lose all your money.

Although, we still don't know how cryptocurrency and technology are behind them in the future. I only know one thing, which is that volatility will remain and will continue on future coins.

Bitcoin and altcoin as a concept of exchange of value is more than proven and during this short time that many have demonstrated, between their ups and downs, that they can be the foundations of a new financial system as we know it; in fact the BTC in some definitions obtains this qualifier, of system as such.
I personally believe that fiat currencies, in general, have their days numbered, and the scene of the pandemic has only accelerated this work. It won't be right now, but its progress to extinction is now measurable.
Whether we like it or not, BTC evolved, in something that we did not have stipulated at first, being considered as a store of value is something important, perhaps not the preferred one like gold, or silver or even platinum, but many already they open a space in their risk portfolios to mitigate the uncertain future.
Cryptography is the future ???, I think that yes, we can see it in the Central Banks of almost all countries, let's see and study the case of China, if this occurs and in a production ecosystem, say goodbye to their fiduciary chains. and welcome to the new era of money.

The truth is trading in cryptocurrency is very volatile currently because there is little liquidity unlike the stock exchange market where the government pumps money into. The future of the blockchain is very bright but the future of several altcoins might be blurry. Bitcoin on the other hand is going nowhere, it will move from the rich to the extraordinary rich people, it will move from the poor to the rich and this will be a way to invest.
In the past several governments were against this but as time passed they started creating policies, now they are already planning on owning their own cryptocurrency which is a good start but they will still game the system by minting money just like a lot if exchanges mint their stable coins.

I personally don't really know what Jack Ma had in mind when he made that statement you quoted but I believe cryptocurrency and blockchain technology is here to stay and it is really the future.
Most development countries of today are now making making cryptocurrency a legal assets for their citizens. Even India has lift the ban on cryptocurrency in the country giving more room for crypto transactions amongst it's citizens.
I also watched a news program whereby South Africa has installed it's first ever cryptocurrency ATM machine for it's citizens to engage in crypto transactions. I won't be surprised if most countries now start having their crypto ATM machines.
