Hi @amestyj envy can range from an irony, through gossip that the envious spreads to discredit the envied, to something very serious. In destructive envy, the person sees the other as an obstacle. If that envy continues to grow, he can plan anything, even death. This, depending on the personality structure. Pathological envy is typical in narcissistic personality structures and also in psychopaths.
Hello my dear @aplausos, you are absolutely right if envy becomes an obsession, it can cause serious damage, up to catastrophic situations like the one you mention in your comment. That is why in any circumstances we must stay positive and look for the good in the bad, to keep those internal enemies out of us.
