India, the world's largest democracy, based on its population, had general for the central government from 19th April to the last of May 2024. Vote counting had started and it seems that the present government lead by Mr. Modi has a possibility of being elected for the next term, but they won't get as much seats as were expected by them. They were expecting over 400 seats out of 543 total seats for legislature assembly election. This has been a huge setback for the ruling party as it is not likely to get majority by its own.

It had been a very lengthy elections schedule, completed in seven phases. In this process, dozens of government employees deputed in election duties, died of heat stroke as it is the peak season of summers in India. It was also a very controversial election of the recent years. During this election, lots of candidates, including existing pm, used foul language and tried to polarize the voters in the name of religion and majoritarianism. Also, the government machinery was accused by the opposition that they are favoring the ruling party. Electronic voting machines were also in the center of great controversy. People have a suspicion on them that they can be programmed to favor a particular political party.

Despite of all such controversies, the election process is complete now. Vote counting is still going on. According to the latest trend, the present government is not going to get absolute majority. This had a very negative impact on stock market. Nifty index was down over 5% in a single day while it was over 8% in the trading session. Share market was high in the previous day when the exit polls guessed that the present government is going to get unprecedented majority. But, the actual situation was different. It depicts that how sentiments are created by media. Media in India is highly corrupt and manipulative. That's why the people who purchased stocks in the previous day have to sustain a heavy loss today. So, it means never have faith on corrupt media. It distort fact and figures and harm the people in every manner. Never trust blindly whatever media presents before the people.
