Sunday Breezer: innovation, Entrepreneurship and Life lessons by latifah09

Hello friends, it has been a while since I last been here. Hope everyone is doing well. Today I came to share with some building knowledge I also acquired from the training I attended on Saturday 4th.

The guest speaker was Damali Ssali, an accountant by professional and a founder of Ideation Corner ( Ideas & dreams, fuel Innovation & Entrepreneurship.) She's also a writer.

This is one of the ROLI( Rotary of Ladies initiative). It brings different inspirational speakers to influence, mentor and increase confidence in women. There I am the ROLI officer of the retardant of Nakawa MUBs.

It was held at Ntinda complex near Capital shoppers. In the innovation village third floor.

It started around 09:30am. The guest speaker came in time and gave the first five people who came in time and I was one of them.

Let's get to what she was able to share with us in summary.

Innovation ; she started with innovation which she described as continuous improvement. It begins with in mind, having ideas and most importantly is take action.

Entrepreneurship ; here she said you have to create your own jobs. Look for inspiration from different people. Don't let yourself down, tell yourself if they did it, what of you???

She told us different ideas she got from different Ugandan entrepreneurs ;
_ Ideas come from anywhere.
_ Start with what you have. Not having capital can't stop you. For instance ; there was a lady who just got graduated and was looking for a job. While she was walking around Owino market, she saw beautiful kitchen staff and got an idea of taking photos. She asked for prices and took photos. She posted them on Facebook and with time she got orders where she charged above the actual price and did delivery. And now she has a shop of kitchen staff. From the start, she only had her smartphone and data.
_ They are always passionate about what they are doing.

Life lessons ;
_ _ Don't allow negative people to throw away your ambitions or ideas. Get your self surrounded by positive people who will always push you forward.
_ Whatever you want to do, do it in time bits, regularly over the year then you will get done with things you want. ( first write down the things you want to do)
_ Leaders are not born, they're made. So, start by leading yourself. What do you want to do??
_ Expect challenges in life and be ready for them.
_ Failing is not the end of the world. Keep trying until you get to the top.
_ Express yourself to the rest of the world.
_ Get balance for example some on entertainment and on serious issues.

This is a simple summary of the speech given by Damali Ssali and I hope you get something in it. I would also like to recommend an important book "Atomic habits" which you can follow
to change your life which I also found interesting. You can get it on Google. Always do what you want, love and be passionate about it.

After the session, photos were next and chatting with one one and another.

After that great event, I went back home because I had to work on my hair. A neighbor had promised to help me out. So, I had to hurry.
