Let me tell you first, this is not about The Markets. But this is about the lifestyle Indians live on the day of Shivratri.

Shivratri is one of the important festival in Hinduism to mark the day of Lord Shiva. On this day devotees worship Lord Shiva, observe a strict fast and do various religious activities to please Lord Shiva. On the eve of Shivratri the entire city was decorated with lights and the devotee perform many functions on temples.

It was last evening when I saw many lighting to mark the day of Shivratri. I was amazed with the various lighting replicas made throughout the city and temples and makes the ocassion quite dazzling. Here are few of the lighting decoration that was very glamorous the ocassion.

Shivaratri is made up of two words Shiva and Ratri. Whereas Shiva refers to Lord Shiva and Ratri means night. So the whole day is marked as Shivratri. It was day of marriage of Lord Shiva with Goddess Parvati. The amount of lighting done on the entire street and different markets shows the faith and devotion of people to mark the ocassion special.

@denise the day is marked to be very auspicious and the glamour that were added to it led me to put this up into #marketfriday. Afterall the entire market and streets and temple were decorated magnificently to make it special .
