No clue about Tron, though I do hold some tokens on my Ledger with the Tron Wallet I think. It's that long ago I can't remember. Can I stake these at all or is it like hoarding BTC?

Good question, never used a Ledger. Of course if you transfer them to TronScan or TronLink you can stake them. A quick search indicates that it is possible to stake from Ledger: https://www.reddit.com/r/Tronix/comments/a3uczs/stake_from_ledger/
