📷 Marketfriday: interesting Souvenirs from Talash

in OCD4 years ago

Have a nice day! Today I will show you a lot of beautiful products made of corn husks or leaves that Kuban craftswomen have learned to use in needlework.

Weaving from Talash has long been a traditional form of applied art and a popular craft in the Kuban. Many girls from childhood were able to weave from Talash not only Souvenirs, but also household items: doormats, rugs, baskets, handbags, toys...

Masters of corn leaves and weave flowers, I liked the roses, they look quite attractive.

Of course, the beauty of weaving depends primarily on the taste and artistic flair of the master himself, and only a little on the materials from which a particular item is woven.

But it is not so easy to prepare Talash for work. To do this, it must be thoroughly washed, dried, and then painted. But the products are bright.

How much you can weave from Talash is simply amazing. Moreover, such baskets and bags, vases and napkins are very durable.

They even make hats out of corn leaves. In the old days, nothing was thrown away, everything went to work.

In the people, Talash is also often called "corn shirts". However, such shirts only in skilled hands become a good material for needlework.

Have you tried to weave some kind of product from corn leaves?

  • Have a wonderful Friday everyone and if you have some interesting market-related photos, go ahead and submit them in the #MarketFriday tag and link to your article in the Express post by @dswigle.

And at the end, as always, there will be flowers.

Happy #MarketFriday, Svetlana! What a wonderful market, as always! The Kuban craftswomen were certainly talented and like the pioneer women of yesteryear, they waste nothing. I find this amazing as we live in such a throwaway society!

The corn husk dolls and even the different hats, baskets (I really loved those baskets!), and even the rose! That was gorgeous! Much patience would be needed to prepare the corn husks until the final stage. Always the very talented works of art. Thank you so much for supporting the challenge!
