There's been some discussions in the papers here (in the UK) about the psychological effects of an undetermined end to isolation. If allowed to drift without clear feedback, gradually people will cease to comply and start to go about their business (similar to the steem/tron issue if it remains unresolved for too long). There's also some concerns about how people will fare if they are isolated, especially elderly or vulnerable people.
I think that we are in general, not great at following orders, even if they are goo for us. Complacency happens very fast these days.
A few years back I went through the Anne Frank house and wondered even given life or death conditions, I do not think the average person today could survive 2 years in the attic.
Social isolation makes people act strangely, and you are right about the tron/steem conditions.
