We're working hard in Rada Quest project. This week I stopped designing RPG maps to modify the credit buying system for minigames.

Credits are used to participate in small games that you can find in the Rada Tavern. Currently only the Gems game, Bejeweled style, is available. With these games, in addition to serving as entertainment, you can earn valuable items for the game, such as Soul Crystals tokens, with which you can buy card packs, or different types of magic potions that serve to recover energy, attack power, etc.

Inicially payments was accepted with Battle and Dec. However, lately community tokens are sinking and their value is virtually null. It's very sad, but it's beginning to notice the depletion of communities that lack projects that give value to their tokens. And as for Dec, I must admit that I am not a Steem Monsters player, but I have read many comments about the devaluation of his currency due to the increase in cards on sale.

Rada Quest's card system will be totally different, so it will be difficult for you to suffer this problem. In Rada Quest, cards will be constantly renewed. This will result in the obsolescence of old cards that, instead of being sold, will be more interesting to reuse them in the game to boost other more useful cards; but will always keep the demand for the new cards in the market alive.

Returning to the topic of this post, I have modified the code to accept for the time being only Steem in purchases. This modification will take effect in the next game update, which will be when the current Gems tournament ends next Saturday.

The new rates will be:

• 10 Credits: 0.1 Steem
• 50 Credits: 0.5 Steem

These prices represent a small increase over the previous price in Battle and Dec. The reason is, as I explained earlier, the sharp devaluation of these currencies. But there's also another explanation.

During this past month, players who have enjoyed this minigame have won an average of 5-6 Soul Crystal per game as a prize for their scores, plus lot of magic potions. The estimated price for the purchase of card packs is 2$ or 2000 Soul Crystal. We can calculate that in each match a player could get an average of 0.005$ in Soul Crystal, and the match has cost 0.01 Steem!

It's easy to check the profit. True, they are very small figures, but they are quick matches that last just over 1 minute. You have to play many, many games to buy a card pack, it's true. For now there is not much to do in Rada but when the main game is released, prices and prize ratios will be adjusted so that you don't need to play so many turns to the minigames.

In addition, some of the incomes for sales are accumulated to the prize pool that will be split among the winners of the tournament. In the screenshot that leads this post you can see the blue boxes with the player's stock and the red ones with the prize pool on the right. Although the screenshot shows the existence of Battle and Dec, these two options will be disabled in next update waiting for better times for this tokens.
