RE: How to De-Steemit Steem: Servers Front-ends and Account Recovery

Over here the low earners go onto a government pension which cannot sustain them and they suffer. I am slowly closing in on 70, but I will never retire.
Your plan to farm is great as it is necessary to do what you love after 60.
I chose charity work simply because it makes me happy to help poor people.
Whether you get the job or not should not matter as you are clever enough to make your own way!
Blessings!

Sort:

Korea was still a developing country without proper social support systems when a lot of people now in their late 60s and older were in their productive years. Some of them didn't pay enough into the national pension or save enough to have a decent retirement. So I see many old people doing simple jobs like collecting cardboard for recycling or selling vegetables on the street near the subway. Hauling cardboard is hard work anytime, but I think when it isn't too hot or cold, selling vegetables isn't all that bad. Ideally, it would be best if the state could take care of everyone, but it seems there is never enough money.
So my plan is to find something I really enjoy doing that maybe pays a little less during that time to have something to do whether I need the money or not.

Oh yeah and it is the same over here. Some of the old people have so little money that they buy and eat pet food every day. What really gets me is the children that dump their parents, as we work with many of those old souls.
You are right as how do you haul cardboard when you are 70+ years old?
Selling vegetables when everyone else is doing the same can certainly not bring in much money. So sacrifices in old age becomes the norm.
I think and international law must be created.
Every person that has a parent should pay a percentage of their monthly income into the bank account of their parents.
Sort of like an international support tax.
The governments will then have enough money to care for those that do not have any children.
Glad that you got the message to care for yourself when you are old my friend.
Blessings!
Note: All of this typed with one finger hahaha

I would be so embarassed if one of my parents wasn't being looked after. Actually, I talked about it with my brothers once and fortunately they feel the same way. Although, I think my parents will be fine. I hope more people think like this. I would probably support a law, similar to child or spouse support.

Now you see, this is the thing, you are different and decent.
My mom is in heaven, but if she was still alive, she would stay right here in my house. It seems that nobody cares about the embarrassment anymore, as so many do it that it has become accepted as the norm. So sad!
Blessings!
