Travel to the Bay of Bengal: Day Two at Saint Martin's Island

in OCD4 years ago

We were excited to be the one of the most amazing part of Bangladesh and the excitement just crossing the boundary in the second day morning as we were off to the best part of the Island.

These engine boat carried us to "Chera Dip".

Chera Dip is the extension part of this Island with full of coral and few bush in the land is the only green available there. This Island is uninhibited and during high tide totally separated from the mainland. It took around three hours walking and about an hour by engine boat to reach the attractive point of the Island. As we took kids with us we had to sacrificed the walking! I bet walking through the mainland to the extension part might be tough job but you'd have lifetime experience. Keep in mind only specific time boat will be there for returning and high tide make the narrow road invisible so proper guide must be recommended otherwise you might have to stay in the open air for whole night!

A piece of land of rock, this place only you can see during low tide

The narrow road is really beautiful during low tide as you'd find blue sea both side and you're walking in between! My dream walking would be this and someday I'd make it.

If you're alone you could hire a bicycle to reach there but sometimes you might think to loose your bike as walking, watching & photography would be worthy there. Hat, Sun Cream, Shorts, Special Shoes for walking on rocks, waterproof bag for your cellphon or camera is recommended.

It was around 9am we reached the special place by engin boat. It is not possible to get off the engine boat to the ground as the boat could hit the sharp edge of the base of coral and rocks. So we have used another little boat without Engine to be at the land.

Thia part has a beautiful kind of area where you you'd find little water during low tide where you could take the natural spa and find colourful little fish and crab. We found many beautiful fishes in the this area.

It is dangerous to be there during high tide as you'd no the rising frequency of water level. My cousin was standing and capturing big waves in his cellphon and soon he found he is in the middle of nowhere (!) , it was a big rock he was standing to get a better view and didn't observe the rising water level.

It was just after our Launch we headed back to our way back destination, the same way by the Sea Boat and it was too crowded like the arrival time. The management should take necessary steps to find the solution so that the crowd could manage in the pick hours.

Leaving the beautiful island made us sad but we have the best memories with us besides our journey was not finished yet as the night and next two days we will go to the beautiful Cox's Bazar and Maheshkhali Island.

Like the arrival time we found the Seagulls with us and got another beautiful Sunset from the boat. It was really amazing place and most recommend.
