Coronavirus-lockdown game for the little ones: give each day a color.

Hi there Steemians,

As some of you know, going into lockdown with small children is no fun, especially if you have to combine this with a full-time job. You have to be damn creative to keep them busy every day, isn't it? I feel I have a duty of solidarity to all fellow parents and that's why I just want to share something that worked surprisingly well with my nearly 4-year-old son. And you (almost) have to do nothing.

The game: give each day a color. That's all. You try to do as much as possible with it. Our day always started with looking for garments that matched the color of that day. A bonus: it gives the day some much-needed structure. Then we went looking for toys with the right color. These were collected in a laundry basket. Suddenly that particular toy became a lot more interesting again. You know how children are. Extra bonus: our house was immediately a lot neater😊.
You can also let them eat in colored plates, adjust your food or go outside (if possible) to look for matching items. Fun guaranteed.

Obviously it will not completely fill your day, but it is certainly a nice addition. And I have to say, in the evening my son was always looking forward to what the next color would be.
