Chakalaka is most definitely a firm favourite, makes for a nice winter lunch or dinner.
Very similar idea growing up was "bubble and squeak" - a dish made with the shallow-fried Sunday leftover vegetables from a roast dinner for those who don't like spicy food.
So right, Bubble & Squeak is an old favourite, leftovers often taste better the next day! Thanks for bringing back nice memories, have not made that in ages!
Growing up my Mom did not like spicy food so bubble and squeak it was, now running my own home, loving spicy food we have chakalaka more often than not.
