Queen of the night

in OCD3 years ago

I had this plant since three years in which leaf used to grow from tip of another one quite unusual for plants growing in South India . After some years, it started flowering. Those flowers were really big but, would never bloom for some reason😕.
One night, I witnessed bunch of dazzling flowers nearly 6-10 all together fully bloomed 😱. To find out flower name I scanned through google lens and found out its Queen of the night (species: Saussurea obvallata ). Locally called as Brahmakamala. It blooms only at night and lasts only that one night and would wither by the following morning. Here are some pics.

Forgot to mention that they have spectacular fragrance. You can sense it from quite a distance. I had this plant in my home terrace and I could feel the fragrance all the way till ground floor.
