Lake Holon Hiking Part III
The most amazing travel so far. This was my first hike and definitely not the last! Did not expect that this will also be a soul-searching one. I learned a lot of things and going home was a challenge lol. This was posted in 2018 and thought would share it again.
A pretty and magical view with a wonderful story nobody could ever resist... and the background is the lake, btw.
So, after the camping in Part II, we immediately left and prepared for another adventure... to Lake Sebu!
We grabbed our things and hiked in the other direction - which was a different path from the Part I. I can hear the readers saying duh, dumbblade.
The trek on this one was a lot easier than the previous trek. It was just a "baby hike" and kinda felt like walking in a park... an abandoned and Zombie-filled park - with you carrying the loot from the previous safe house or something.
The cute stairway to heaven.. or a highway to hell?
So after lifting your whole weight on some organic stairs, you will have a final view of the lake.
And the basic hike started here.
See? No obstacles. No life-threatening walks in a cliff or something. Sorry you had to endure this post. But what's amazing in this part is we were able to have a little chit-chat with a T'boli tour guide. I'm so sorry I forgot your name Mr. Cute Tour Guide huhuhu I got lazy and wrote this after a month lol. He talked about some creepy old stories in the mountain and some myths about the guardians of this place.
The forest is filled with wild flowers and some wild and big plants.
Yaaass baby gurl pose for me you little fab!
Of course, I had to ask my friend to take a candid-looking photo of me walking - for the likes and upvotes, obviously.
We reached a point where we could hear a waterfall, but we couldn't see cos you know, the fog. Or I don't even know if we could have a view without it.
Look at that stick I'm holding! Such craft! As a fine artist who sucks with carving, I was impressed with this one. Just beautiful. And I bought it home with me. <3
Finally out of the forest!
We passed in a village. It was raining, and the road was slippery. Actually, one hiker got her ass slipped in the mud hahaha. bullyblade
A wonderful orchid!
We eventually got to the end-point where we changed our clothes and rode a van. We were supposed to go to Lake Sebu but due to the rain and some other stuff, we canceled so the plan was to go home.
Shit happens so because the road was rough and muddy and it was kinda raining, we had to go out from the van often, so it could pass the difficult road.
I said these looked like teeth. They laughed at me. I'm a natural comedian.
So uhmm because we had to get out from the van, there was a garbage truck that passed right in front of us. One hiker yelled "Let us ride!"... So... you know what happened next.
Because this was a big truck and can overcome obstacles, we had a smooth ride... with the garbage. LMAO.
That was me on the left. In case you don't recognize me with the garbage cos I blended with them.
Again, the view was breathtaking. The smell was people-friendly though.. since the trashes were just recycled plastics and stuff.
The truck driver was so kind to drop us at the Tourism Office even though he was to go to a different place. (One of the reasons why I love the people in here. They are so kind, welcoming, and very friendly!) We ate our late lunch at a store near the office and the van arrived an hour later (bringing our stuff). We left the place in the afternoon and arrived back in Davao City late at night.
This ends the whole adventure to the majestic Lake Holon in South Cotabato, Philippines. The whole experience was really fun and I would never forget this hike. I searched for my soul and I found it again.
