The history of music artists: The history and the case of Paperboys!
Paperboys is a known group in Norway, and they have also got recognition abroad. We love them, because they are doing funny things, and things that many people appreciate! They are one of us!
Paperboys is a hip hop-duo consisting of the rapper Øyvind «Vinni» Sauvik from Arendal and DJ Ole Alexander «Pope Dawg» Halstensgård from Drammen.The group was originally started of «Vinni» and the rapper Jarle «J.J.» Hollerud. They met each other in Tanzania i 1989, where their parents drive with relief work. This is an important working type for several organizations in the world, and you need to have perspectives of doing things in right manners for doing a good job!
So, why is Paperboys such a recognized group at home and worldwide? They have produced much music which people like, and they have won prizes for the work that is done. Back in Oslo in the beginning of the 1990s, they started the groups called for Mindstate, Ravens of Odin and Risin Sons. In 1998, «Vinni» and «J.J.» released the single ”So Fine” under the name Risin Sons. In 2001, they debuted under the name Paperboys with the single «Moving Up»/«It's Paper».
In 2002, they published their first album «No Cure For Life», which gave them Norwegian Grammy Awards for 2002 in the class hip hop. After the debut album, Hollerud left the group and Halstensgård was associated as a new member of the duo. Later on in the same year, Paperboys released the song «Barcelona» together with the group MadCon, and this song was nominated as «the song of the year». In 2003, their second album «The Great Escape» reached the third place on the VGs list. During the Alarm prize of 2004, they won the «Best video» for the video to the single «Hey Man». For their third album «When Worlds Collide», they won the Norwegian Grammy Awards for 2005 in the class hip hop/R’n’B, and they also won the Alarm prized for 2006 in the class hip hop/rap.
In 2006, they gave out their first compilation in «So Far So good: Songs and Singles». In 2009, they made a comeback with the single «Lonesome Traveller» and with their fourth album «The Oslo Agreement». In 2010, «Vinni» went solo under the name «Vinni and the Vagabonds» with the album «Happily Lost». In 2011 Paperboys released their second compilation with «So Far, So Good Part 2».
Paperboys has been ranked for the MTV Europe Music Award for the best music group in Norway. They have also given out the song: «One Day», and therefore they need much status many places. Paperboys is on the internet, and you can find information about the group there. In addition, you have the available music channels as YouTube Music, Spotify and Deezer. And you also can find music videos on the internet on some of the mentioned issues.
