The Limfjord is a sound in the sea in Jylland in Denmark, and it connects the North Sea with Kattegat. The Limfjord is 180 km long, and it has many small and big islands, coves and sounds. The deepest place in in Hvalpsund, where it is 24 meters to the bottom of the fjord. The landscape is characterized by slopes, limestone cliffs and meadows, partly with animal grazing. The wetland area “Vejlerne” is northern Europe's largest bird sanctuary. And many like the beautiful surroundings and environments with going in the Limfjord, for instance using a sailboat to travel from west to east, or from east to west. And sometimes you must steer the sailboat very precisely.

The largest towns along the Limfjord is the city of Aalborg, and the towns Skive, Thisted and Nykøbing. By the west mouth is the fishing port Thyborøn. The largest island in the Limfjord is Mors. There are bridges with Oddesund, Sallingsund, Vilsund, Aggersund and in Aalborg, there is a dam at Virksund, and there is a motorway in tunnel under the Limfjord, and there are also several small ferries.

There is nice to be on holidays and also to have stays in Denmark, and that is good for all nations, where people are positively oriented and want to cooperate with the sellers and the marketing companies about telling what Denmark is and what is can be. And the beer Tuborg and the Danish people are excellent in telling what to do, and where to stay when you are abroad in Denmark. And the name Denmark is after the Danes and the farms being located there.

The fishing in the Limfjord has returned very, but one important product is still mussels that are scraped in the fjord and the mussels are refined in Glyngøre and Nykøbing.

In the Viking Age and early in the Middle Ages, it was a connection in the middle of the fjord to Jammerbugt and Skagerrak, nearby Aggersborg. This meant that one could do sailing in the fjord through a sound between Hirtshals and Hansthom. This connection, nowadays wetland area Vejlerne, was on the other hand, tranformed to land in the late Middle Ages, when this northern part of Denmark rose as a result of the ice age, and the Limfjord was after that a closed and really an actual fjord. But on 3 February 1825, a storm surge broke through the narrow strip of land in west, and formed Agger kanal, or Agger canal. Since that time a new channel has been opened, and that canal is called for Thyborøn kanal. And although Agger kanal later on was closed, the Limfjord has been a sound between the peninsula Jylland and the island Norrejyske ø since 1825. So, there is history and stories about how things were in the Limfjord.

So, when we are travelling in Denmark, there is much too see and much to be pleased of. And there are not properly mountains in Denmark, and accordingly the land is really flat. And you can enjoy your time with the family and with friends, and you can also be known with unknown people.

There are hotels and cottages along the Limfjord, and therefore you can travel and enjoy and experience the stays during the day, especially when coming to the nights. And you need to be precise when going from place A to place B in the Limfjord.

And one can see the sunrise and the sunset in the Limfjord.
