Microbes- Little Angels.

Hello!!!!!!!!

So, can I tell you something (moves closer, clears the throat, takes a deep breath, suddenly becomes serious and screams loudly).

MICRO-ORGANISMS ARE NORMAL!!!!!!!
MICRO-ORGANISMS ARE NORMAL!!!!!!!
MICRO-ORGANISMS ARE NORMAL!!!!!!!

(Takes a deep breath again and whispers)

Whether you like it or not, whether you know it or not, whether you want it or not, you are full of micro-organisms.

They live with you, they dine with you, they sing with you, they dance with you. They do every single thing with you, brethren.

Many people hear Staphylococcus aureus and the next thing that comes to their head is JESUS (calling his name with so much vigor and fear), and Staphylococcus aureus is the normal body flora of the skin and nostrils.

Many people hear Escherichia coli (E. coli) and they say GOD FORBID, twiddling their fingers and passing it over their heads (some people even twiddle, pass it over their head and stomp their foots on the floors, that act amuses me every single time).

E. coli inhabits our large intestine. Infact, we humans cannot synthesize vitamin k ourselves, and E. coli does that beautiful job for us.

I can go on and on and on, about how those little angels do a lot for us just for us to see how important they are in our daily lives.

Now, don’t get me wrong, there are some annoying micro-organisms that their own destiny in this world is to cause harm, but trust me, the good ones are far more than those bad and ugly ones.

Some of them don’t even mean to cause harm but because of one circumstance or the other, they find themselves in places that don’t naturally suit them and then they have to do things that will help them survive which in turn might cause harm to the host (and this is entirely a topic for another day).

So, let me advise you, next time you hear the word- micro-organisms, don’t judge those little angels, just give yourself a wide grin and ponder on the good things they are doing for us.
