We've arrived at a new month, so Happy July, everyone!

Ready to use the computer!

Even though I spend a large part of my life napping, I also have plenty of time to think about life and about such things as building community, which is pretty important around here.

Why "Cat Content" Is Good...

Although people might think that cat related content is kind of mindless and fluffy (no pun intended), it importance should not be underestimated.

Somehow, cats — more than dogs — have become the unofficial "mascots" of the web... perhaps because you Hoomans can have a cat sleep on your desk while you work far more readily than a dog... and people DO actively seek out cat content online.

Kidding aside, though, according to Bloomberg's — a respected mainstream business magazine — cats may drive as much as 15%(!) of all web traffic!

Meanwhile, Google reports that there is something on the order of 30-40 million searches for "cats" every single month. Compare that to Steem having a bit more than one million accounts!

Consider this, for example: How many people are not aware of having seen at least one meme featuring the late, great Grumpy Cat?

I shall now resume my napping!

Anyway, my point here is that my having a cat blog here is highly relevant, in terms of providing a mixture of content the great world is actually interested in!

Hence, I keep posting for Caturday and generally cute cat pictures, as a counterpoint to crypto and blockchain posts... because it MAKES SENSE!

I hope the rest of you cat lovers on Steem will start posting to some of our cat related communities!
