Moving In The Right Direction Finally

The Chinese Centre for Information and Industry Development releases lists on a regular basis.I can remember when Steem was in the top 5 and highly regarded as a Blockchain with loads of promise. Over the last year the Steem Block Chain was on the slide with others around it taking it's place.

In March last year we were a lowly 10th with a score of 104.9. The scores are made up of basic tech,creativity and applicability and then added together to give you a score.

Basic technology is comprised of the following areas being functionality, performance,safety and most importantly decentralization.This accounts for 65 % of the score so is highly important.

Applicability is the second category which looks at node deployment, wallet application, development support and the implementing of applications. This accounts for 20 % of the overall score.

The last category is Creativity which assessed how many developers were involved, how often is the code updated. This accounts for the remaining 15% of the score. If you look at Steem's score we are highly penalised on this category dropping nearly 20 points on the rivals above us.

I have never understood some of this as other block chains honestly don't seem to be doing anything yet there scores are fairly high. Steem stagnated over the last 18 months or so even though we had the likes of Steem Engine and the tribes appearing. How can you asses a score on the number of developers involved as surely other development was happening besides Steemit Inc.

Two days ago the latest list showed Steem has arrived back in the top 5 after clawing it's way slowly up the ladder. In December last year we had improved our score from March by 1.3 points and were up into 7th spot. The latest chart shows us in 5th with a combined score of 109.5 and 47.8 points behind EOS in top spot.

Surely with all the buzz with Tron and now the communities rolling out we should at least make 4th spot next time around. It is interesting to note that Tron are now in the second spot having climbed one spot as well on a huge 139.6 points.

Personally I don't think these scores mean very much as it could be open to interpretation and a little bias to a certain favored block chain. Good to be up in the list again though as people do take note of this kind of stuff. Still it is a positive though.
