Five Minutes Shopping ... More in the Kitchen
I got to this performance to shop on the run. In this lockdown situation, we have a two-hour window to make the purchases strictly necessary for life. That's how I got to the market. I come to laugh, to get out of the house I need a written statement specifying where I go. Only in two hours, from 11 am to 1 pm.
Somewhat normal if I consider that Romania is in an emergency. As in the case of war.
Well, when 11 o'clock came I ran to the old market in the neighborhood. I told you about this market before. A forgotten market that seems from other times, this is its charm. It is not spectacular and does not look good but instead, I can buy fresh merchandise from small producers, farmers near the city.
Once upon a time, the market was very busy, now it is almost deserted. Buyers, like sellers, protect themselves against infection with the coronavirus.
I didn't waste my time, I bought mushrooms and greenery as well as two roses for the garden. I managed to do this in five minutes ...
It was a beautiful Friday, warm outside after several cold winter days. A very good day for gardening. Mandatory to work with flowers and seedlings.
My problem in recent years is that I no longer have a place in the garden where I can plant flowers or trees. Normally I should stop buying new flowers but I can't do that. Every spring I do the same thing ... I buy new shoots and so I have to move the old flowers all the time. This year I planted two trees, three shrubs, and more roses.
Now I have two roses that I have to plant. For this, I have to make room and move a flower.
I planted the roses respecting the indications on the packaging (however I knew how to proceed, I planted many roses and trees until now)
The gardening session ended with the fertilizer. It was the first time I fertilized this year.
The main reason I went to the market was to buy food. To have what to cook, I like to cook!
If the purchases were very fast, five minutes, the cooking was much longer.
During this time, for a month I decided to eat only vegetarian. It's a very good cure for spring when there are so many greens.
I have to say that I cook in the simplest way, just as a man can when he is hungry. Many times I do not manage to make good food but I always learn something and especially, what not to do anymore. That's how I learned to cook. I was and am an amateur! I say this because very rarely it happens to cook the same recipe several times and come out the same.
I thought I'd cook a mushroom stew. Very simple food and easy to make. I recommend it!
The necessary ingredients (four portions) are:
500 g mushrooms, two onions, dill and parsley, oil, salt and pepper, and a little water.
Mushrooms and onions are cut into small pieces. Onions, especially in very small pieces.
I fry in a pan, first the onion, until it is slightly warm and then the mushrooms are added and mixed.
Parsley and dill should be cut equally, in small pieces.
Half of the vegetables are put in the pan and let boil with the mushrooms and the rest I keep for later.
Boil for about 15 minutes, until the water evaporates and then add the other side of greenery, salt, and pepper.
Stir in the pan and turn off the heat. The stew is ready to be eaten.
I tried to fill in a post that should have been about shopping and places to buy. That's how this challenge was conceived by the host, @dswigle. Unfortunately, our situation caused by this virus prevented me from going through the shops.
Denise proposed something else, to use the beauty to beautify. One flower in each post, that is #alwaysaflower.
Waiting for better times please take care and be safe!
This post was initially posted here but I think all my friends, wherever they are, should see it.
As long as we are threatened by this invisible enemy, it's good to protect ourselves!
