RE: AI v AI

in OCD6 years ago

AI may have an edge, it will have to be able to actually think outside the box of human thought processes. It will first have to learn to unlearn it's Human Programming. There is no infallible Human Programming Language. There is no Human capable at this time of writing or creating a perfect piece of software.

I think AI is a very very long way off. Programming Language Life Expectancy will play a role in the development of AI. How many people know how to code in CP/M or even in basic, Simple google search returns:

Wikipedia has a list whose goal is to include “all notable programming languages in existence”, that currently lists over 700 programming languages.Nov 17, 2017

No specifics were given for a search on Obsolete Programming Languages, but I saw links for anywhere from 5-11.

User interfaces are also always changing, we went from put the phone receiver on a modem cradle, to plug the phone line in, to Ethernet and t-11 lines then fiber optics, and all the wi-fi g levels. With out mobility being built into AI as an Android system like the Hanson Robot - Sophia, or TV's Data from Star Trek, it will be very surprising if AI has a life expectancy longer than the standard Human one, or even a 20 year functional lifetime.

Yes, it is a long-range issue most likely, but the moment it clicks into existence - everything changes very rapidly indeed and there is no way we can catch it. I think the AI lifespan will be infinite, as it keep evolving regardless of interface, adapting as it needs and designing for itself. I think the AI of today is not even close to what it will be.
