Lights and colors of a small harbor

Hello to all dear friends and welcome back to my blog.

As usual I present one of my paintings but linking it to much more important paintings than mine.

I share some works of art of the same theme to show how great artists interpret a seascape.

Four different ways of representing seascapes, painted live or imagined, or both.

In those days there was no internet to copy!

The painting that I present to you has as its subject a small harbor, the fruit of my imagination.

As you already know, my love for the sea leads me to paint it continuously, every day I make sketches or small watercolors with a marine theme.

Today I propose a different subject from the watercolor technique because it is a medium-sized oil on canvas, 50x60 cm.
I recommend to my artist friends to paint every day, and to copy less and less, in order to develop creativity and imagination.

Let's not always take photos from the Internet as a model, let's go on site, paint live! Let's face reality and then mediate everything with our idea of reality, use feelings, get excited in front of a beautiful landscape, at a sunset at a bay!

If we just copy a subject we don't make art but we exercise our skills, but be careful because it is only technical!

Art is a set of continuous exercises, of failures, disappointments, but also of joys and enthusiasm that lead us to face and overcome the obstacles we encounter during our journey.

We free creativity, we raise our soul to the sky of art, without placing limits on our imagination.

We take in every moment the positive signals that the Earth offers us, they are right in front of us, we seize them so that they enter within us, we learn to transfigure them in painting, in music in poetry.

We try a heuristic approach to the world of art, based on experiences but also on the intuition that we humans have inherent, intimate.

We experience and make observation a mantra.

Copying is the artistic limit that we must overcome with daily work.

We are a small marina, with our resources and our boats, we host something that is our heritage but everyone's.
We live in a world that still offers hospitality and beauty, let's not dispel it with selfishness and venal temptations.

A hospitable hug.

Armando.

thank you so much for curation @bdvoter.cur !a huge hug.

I wonder, what influenced your art? do you have specific theme for your paintings? are you into naturalism or realism? just curious.

Since I was a child I have attended the study of 5 painters of the Neapolitan school (landscape painters), trying to be a landscape painter.

Then with my academic studies I also became interested in abstract and informal art, now I feel very inspired by surrealism and impressionism, however I love all the artistic currents of the twentieth century.

A hug and thank you.

Your painting is beautiful and I loved reading about your influences and exploring away from internet image search and get outdoors and exploring art.

Thank you so much we can also take inspiration from a simple stone, the important thing is to have something to communicate inside. Ty for stopping by a hug from Italy.

Ah lovely to see a talent on my news feed. Nice painting :)

Ah thank you so much !A hug from Italy.

Love this!! As a fellow illustrator, I love seeing the different styles and interpretations of a shared subject matter.

Thank you so much I m glad you liked a hug.

What an absolutely beautiful painting, and I love the format of your posts, showing how other artists have interpreted the sea.

I wish I had that kind of knowledge and talent.
