The back pain is a problem for most of us that stay long hours sitting in front our computers or using our phones to work on steemit. There is often this tendency for persons to lean forward towards the computer or bend either ways. Sitting up and ensuring a straight back position when sitting is important to keeping the pain off. This definitely is not easy as we tend to forget and will always bend forward.

To maintain a good posture while sitting and working, we may need to do the following.

1: discipline
We need to discipline ourselves to sit upright. The tendency to lean towards the either way are often subtle. Before we know it, we may already be leaning towards our screen. Take for example, you are in a middle of work and something pops up or there is a test you wish to understand. In most cases, we tend to lean toward the computer, as if there is a connection between leaning forward and understanding the message. This happens subtly. Another issue is fatigue, holding on to a particular position for so long may cause some strains or general tiredness. At this point people tend to find an anchor as it were and thereby compromise their posture.

I have noticed these two issues in my case and I have observed it happen over and over. Therefore, once such happens I quickly remind myself to take a shot stroll or a walk to ease off. Without discipline we may fall again and again to bad posture.

2: Constantly remind yourself
We need to do this as if it is hardwired in our brain. Once we lean forward, we need to tell ourselves to stay straight. It needed to be done as if someone is standing by us and telling us not to lean forward or in anyway compromise our posture. With such constant reminder, we may likely avoid the tendency of bad posture.

3: A good reading chair and a table
This is very important. Good desk helps one maintain his posture. Poor reading or writing desk will compromise the determination to sit straight. Therefore, get a good desk.

The three suggestions are things I personally feel can help enhance good posture and keep off the back pain.

Sitting on a stool often is another cause of back pain. I remember working in one computer center as an operator, I was not given a chair but a stool. That caused me frequent bouts of back pain, making me to be taking pain relievers often. My experience in that company made me to provide a good seat for my workers and even customers.

Another cause of back pain can be often bending down while handling home chores. It's advised to sit down instead of bending over or if you are doing laundry, place your washing basin on a table to enable you stand up while washing instead of bending for a long time.

A good reading chair should include an arm chair so that the reader can rest his or her hands for support. A good reading table also includes one which height should be at par with the reader's arm, not one that will constantly raise the hand higher than an angle. For that will cause more pain to the shoulder as well as the back.
