Hello Steemship community, this is my entry to your contest "Happiest Me".

"Nothing can be compared to the joy I felt the moment I saw the excitement on their faces even if they didn't tell me openly."

Happiest moment

It was a pleasure to watch the parents whispering softly while waiting for the short orientation to begin for the tablet to be distributed to them.

As a teacher and a parent, I can relate much to the challenge faced by both parents and students now that we are still in a pandemic.

I am the class adviser of the grade 10 science class students in our school. Students in this class were thoroughly evaluated, so I can say that they are really smart, intelligent, and capable ... only, a few are financially favored. The truth is, most of them chose to enroll in a public school because their parents do not have extra money for private school tuition fee.

So when distance learning was launched, I noticed that most of them find it difficult to catch up whenever I had an announcement, online survey, or just anything that involved online activities.

A blessing to most of them

"Because we only have one cellphone at home shared with my siblings, plus my parents can't load it regularly."

My students' usual response whenever I sent them a private message.

Usually, there is only one cellphone at home to be shared to the whole family. Others have to wait for their parents to come home where that's their only time to read for new announcement in their group chat.

So I'm very happy when our school head announced that all the students in the science class will receive a tablet ... I was almost in tears then. I know not everyone needs it because they already have gadgets to use at home ... but I am sure it is a blessing for most of them who are actually in need.

This Cherry Mobile tablet is not that high-end, but it's very functional. Enough for students to be able to do research online at the shelter of their home.

We, the class advisers suggested giving it away as soon as possible. Actually, its distribution had been delayed due to the very strong typhoon that destroyed the cell sites here in our area. We've been itching for more than two months then, since to get a signal was torturous to all of us here.

So when it seemed to return a little to normal, we immediately suggested that it be distributed.

During the distribution

I am very grateful to the Department of Education (Philippines) because they listened to the cries of many students at this time of the pandemic. Even if the students could only use it temporarily because it will be collected back after the school year, still nothing can be compared to the joy it brings during the times when their needs were met.

Moments with the class advisers

Look at how happy our faces were, after the tablet was smoothly distributed to the parents.

By the way, only the parents were our attendees because they are the signatories to the borrower slip/agreement.

So,
this activity was one of the things that makes me "the happiest"... as a teacher and as a parent. I hope you also are happy with what I shared.

I am inviting @abby0207, @kyrie1234, @bisayakalog, @jenesa, and @georgie84 to also join this meaningful contest. I am sure you have lots of happy moments to share.

Also, thank you so much to the Steemship community, your contest theme is very meaningful to me. Long live Steemship community!

Cheers,
@fabio2614
