PLAGIARISM

Plagiarism is the representation of another author’s language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions as one’s own original work.
Wikipedia

Even unknowingly using someone else’s ideas or words without proper citation to the source maybe due to negligence is still considered plagiarism because your work tries to ‘’show off’’ someone else’s work as yours.
If you apply images or group of words that are not originally yours, make sure to cite the source of the images or contents.
Below-listed websites are where you can get free images on the internet:

Consequences of Plagiarism

• Posting plagiarized or copied content could cause you important referrals and advancement in your career.
• It will be considered as violating copyright laws and you can be legally prosecuted for that.
• Your post may be down-voted by community members if it has no proper citation where necessary.

How to avoid Plagiarism

Cite your source

• Make sure to add a link as close as possible to the image or images that are not originally yours.
• When referring to an idea or words that are not yours, make sure to cite the source.

Include quotations

• If you paste a someone’s words verbatim into your article, the easiest way to avoid plagiarism is to add quotation marks around the text to indicate that the words are not yours, or put a > mark before the words to indicate that they are not yours.
• Add a direct quote to cite the source of the content so that everyone reading may know who the words or idea belongs to.

Present your own idea

It will be lovely if you make your own unique ideas, one you’ll be very proud of, and also save yourself the problems that comes with plagiarism.

I on my part have read and understood the Steemit Etiquette on Steemit Community and will do my best to abide by them.

My regards goes to @cryptokannon for taking time to educate everyone concerning how to avoid plagiarism.
