introdction

Hello everyone is your favourite money hungry boy victoh again.
This time around I am here to educate you all on plagiarism and proper citation of works on the steemit blockchain/ platform.
Of course this is in fulfilment of my achievement 3 post required on the newcommer community.

Plagiarism can be seen as the use of someone else's works , poems article, art works and so on without giving acknowledgement or recognition to the owner of such work..
Plagiarism is very bad as it discourages productivity and encourages laziness. In a community where plagiarism is encouraged you find out that most of the members just recycle old materials and nothing new is being form.
Now coming down to plagiarism as it pertains steem it platform. As we all know steem it is an upcoming social media and influencing platform and without a steady stream of new Marerials and contents it becomes extremely difficult for steem it to survive and attract new members. Steem it encourages individual creativity and rewards that with rebates of various types .rebates could come in form of steem token, SBD ,Tron ,and so much .
Although plagiarism is greatly frowned out on the steem it platform it looks favourable at proper citation of works gotten from other sources. This is due to the fact and the knowledge that no information comes out from the thin air . But with proper citation we help to acknowledge member who have made conscious effort at creating content and informative post for the better upliftment of memeber.
Having said all this I will be giving a brief demonstration as to how to properly cite a work and the does and don't.

Types of plagiarism

Paraphrasing

When you say the same thing with the original writer and changes a few things in other to deceive people. By doing such you have successfully purposeful omitted the writer of the post and claimed it as urs. This is very wrong and should be frown at

Accidental

This usually occurs without know whereby a writer finds out that works he used were already done by someone such as in research papers. By doing so he has omitted to give proper citation to the original created but not intentionally but accidentally. This could also occur where by you forget in the process to cite the works.

This are just some of the few ways whereby plagiarism can be done..

citation

This can be seen as the proper acknowledgement of content and works gotten by another person . Through the process of citations you publicly declare where and who owns the work you post rather than silently and openly lay claims of stolen work. A proper citation is a creative dream come through. Mean while a platform with poor citation requirements is a creative night mere.
The proper way to cite a work is as follows
To start with you would want to copy the work and paste in here
But before posting it use the greater than (>) sign. Just before the work . This shows that the work was gotten from else were .
