ACHIEVEMENT 2 @verdad: BASIC SECURITY ON STEEM

Hi steemians,
Hope you are all doing great.This post is actually about the basic security on steem and how funds are transferred to other accounts,which i have taken my time to simplify.
FUNCTIONS OF THE KEYS

  1. ACTIVE KEY:
    This key enables you to transfer steems,place market orders,updating profile details and also power down/up transaction.

  2. MEMO KEY:
    This key is used for encrypting and decrypting memos when transferring funds. When you want to encrypt a memo, an #sign before it.

  3. POSTING KEY:
    The posting key allows you to post, comment, edit, up/downvote and resteem other accounts.

  4. OWNER KEY:
    This key is used to reset all your other keys. It is recommended to keep it offline at all times. If your account
    is compromised, use this key to recover it within 30 days.

  5. MASTER PASSWORD:
    Its recommended you keep it in a very safe because it can be used to generate other keys

Because of how important these keys are,its therefore advisable that you keep them in your mails so that you can easily retrieve it when needed.

The picture below illustrates how Steems are powered up.Click on wallet,sign in with your active key and wait for the page to finish loading up. Afterwhich, navigate to STEEM and click on the drop down arrow.

Select power up from the pop-up options.

How to transfer funds to different accounts:
The same procedure is followed, but this time,we navigate to STEEM DOLLARS and right click on the drop-down arrow.

Click on transfer

Type in the username/account name without any mistakes and enter the amount you want to transfer and also with a memo below.

Click on next to complete transaction.
