What is Plagiarism?

Ans: Plagiarism is simply an act of taking credit for the words, ideas, images, expressions, creativity without the consent of the one who originated it.

Types of Plagiarism:

There are four main types of Plagiarism.
1- Copying.
2- Patchwork Plagiarism.
3- Paraphrasing Plagiarism.
4- Accidental Plagiarism.

Copying:

Copying is one of the most used plagiarism types in which the person takes the full credit without changing even 1% of the work of which he copied furthermore the source not also being shown.

Patchwork Plagiarism:

Patchwork Plagiarism is the populous form of Plagiarism. In patchwork, the person takes the original quotations or articles or photographs of others and puts them in his own work without mentioning them and he doesn't even use the appropriate punctuations in his work as the original one.

Paraphrasing Plagiarism:

It includes using other's work with some small corrections in the sentences or phrases and using it as yours. The original content remains the same, even if the words depart from each other.

Accidental Plagiarism:

This occurs when you don't have a bit of intention copying someone else work but when you finish it, it looks nearly the same as another person's idea or illustration.

HOW DO I AVOID PLAGIARISM?

First of all I will try to make full research on the topic which I am going to write about and understand it before I begin to write, in order to avoid plagiarism.

If somehow I need to copy a quote or an image or a phrase I am going to mention the source of that website or the person from whom I am copying.
