HOW TO PREPARE FOR RAINY DAYS IN NIGERIA
Nigeria is a country in West Africa that has 36 states and its capital, Abuja. She is considered the most populated black nation with about 200 million people living in it. One interesting fact about Nigeria is that its climate comes in two seasons:
- The rainy or wet season: This begins in April and ends in October.
- The harmattan season is known in common parlance as the dry season. It starts from November and ends in March.
For most people, the rainy season is the best, however, this is not so for everyone as this season requires a lot of preparation.
Sickness like cold and flu becomes prevalent during this period and there are chances that a person could miss important meetings or plans like grocery shopping during the wet days.
How To Prepare For The Wet Days
1. Get A Good Umbrella.
The foldable ones are preferable and these should cost about N1500–N2500. Umbrellas are very crucial as your preparations will be futile if this is overlooked.
2. Invest In Cardigans, Rubber Shoes And Sandals
Cardigans will help keep you warm all day long and with these shoes, you can do a 9m long jump but be careful that you don't land in those gigantic potholes filled with muddy water.
3. Fix Leaking Roofs And Cracked Walls
A lot of people find themselves remembering this when the rain has begun. By then, books and other essentials furnitures might have been soaked.
4. Don't Forget To Purchase Something Fanciful
Like a souvenir bag to put in your extra luggage or a bigger handbag for the ladies as you'll find yourself changing to your work shoes always.
5. Warm Bathes Go A Long Way
Stop forming macho when it comes to using warm water to bath. Your body will love it and will thank you for it.
6. Eat Well And Eat Fine Too
You need a healthy body and a sound mind. Eschew skipping meals, take lots of fruits and try to keep fit as much as possible.
The wet season also has sunny days too. A quick look at the weather forecast will help you prepare better for your day as well.
