Reciting Al-Qur'an

in Newcomers' Community3 years ago

Reading the Al-Quran or praying at the house of the deceased is a tradition and it is even the duty of a Muslim to pray for other Muslims, whether those who are praying for are living or dead.

As was done by the pious people in our village where they always received an invitation from the family of the deceased to present prayers to the deceased who had preceded him as additional charity for him to wade through his life in the grave.

Usually, to read the Al-Quran at the funeral home, not too many pious people are invited, at least 5 to 8 people. Arriving at the funeral home, the pious people are greeted very kindly by the host, are welcome to sit in the space provided and then serve various kinds of food to be eaten by the pious person.

After the invited guests served the food, they took a break for about 5 minutes, during which time they chatted with the host and each other while smoking a cigarette for those who smoked.

Then the host provides the Alquran and agrees to whom the prayer will be said. One of the pious people becomes the opening and closing prayer. The Koran began to read simultaneously as well as in serial verses.

After finishing reading the Koran, the leader immediately reads a prayer for the deceased who is agreed by other people. Then the host also provides snacks to these guests. After that, the host also gave the alms envelope while shaking hands, and then the invited guests asked the host's permission to return.
