I am delighted to be here again with my achievement 6 task within just a short while I joined steemit. I tell you, it has not been very easy for me but with the help of my bosses, I have been able to reach this height. I want to specially thank @steemcurator01, @steemcurator02, @steemcurator03, @steemcurator04 and all my bosses here for there immense support all these while.

Voting and Curation in The Steemit Platform

The Steemit Platform is a social media platform that has a unique system of rewarding every article or write-up pasted in it. A post published or pasted in the platform is usually voted for rewards based on its quality. An article can either be updvoted or downvoted based on its quality. When an article is updvoted, the reward gotten by the author is shared 50/50 to both the author and curators. This means that 50% of the vote goes to the author of the article and 50% goes to the curators that is the voters. This makes it stress free for anyone to vote on a post since they will be rewarded also by their votes.

What Happens if a Post is Voted Before 5 Minutes Mark After it has been Posted?

As I stated earlier, 50% of the upvote by a curator goes to him while the rest goes to the reward pool. Being that as it may, it depends on the time between which the post was made and when it was voted.

If a post is upvoted at 5 minutes, 100% of the reward will go to the curator.
If a post is voted at 4 minutes after it was posted, 80% of the reward goes to the curator and 20% goes to reward pool.
Again if it is voted 3 minutes after, 60% of the reward goes to the curator while 40% goes to the reward pool.
And for 2 minutes, 40% of the reward goes to the curator and the rest which is 60% goes to the reward pool.
And if the vote is done at 1 minute then 20% of the reward goes to the curator and 80% goes to the reward pool.
Finally, if a post is voted the very moment it was published, 100% of the reward goes to the reward pool.

What Witness is and and How to Vote for a witness.

The Steem blockchain requires a set of people to create blocks and uses a consensus mechanism called delegated proof of stake, or DPOS. The community elects 'witnesses' to act as the network's block producers and governance body. There are 20 full-time witnesses, producing a block every 63-second round. A 21st position is shared by the backup witnesses, who are scheduled proportionally to the amount of stake-weighted community approval they have. Witnesses are compensated with Steem Power for each block they create.

Every witness is given the responsibility to ensure that the steem Blockchain is secure and also keeping the steem server active all the time. Therefore a witness need to get a computer and constantly monitor the steem sever and make sure it is active at all times.

How to vote a witness.

Voting a witness on the steemit Blockchain is quite easy. You can do that by visiting this site to vote of any witness you wish to vote.

How to join an existing community..

There are many communities on the steemit platform. Newcomers should join a community that fits their interest. The more reason the communities are many. A newcomer can join as many communities that appeals to his or her interest by just clicking on explore communities and clicking subscribe on any of the communities.

To create a new community.

• Click the link
• Click on create community
• Fill in the name of the community and what it is all about.

• Click next.
• Save the owner's key for the communitb you are about to create.

• Mark the box by clicking on it to ensure you have saved the owner's key.
• Click create community.

Discord Application

This is a social media platform just like WhatsApp, Facebook, LinkedIn and so on used by steemians for meetings.
The app is usually downloaded on playstore, registered and verified for an individual to have an account. When all these have been done, the discord account is ready for use.

Discord as an application software can accommodate many persons running to hundreds of millions and can be used to individuals and groups.
