ACHIEVEMENT 4 ; APPLYING MARKDOWN BY @timani
Hello Steemians, this content is about applying markdowns on the Steemit community. When we talk about markdowns in the Steemit community we are basically referring to how we want our content text ( Font style) and pictures to look or appear to our readers but will mean a reduction in price in order to stimulate sales when we are speaking English.
Applying markdowns to your content makes it look attractive and enjoyable to your readers which will help increase the votes of that content. This markdowns do not have a specific toolbar where you can just click on and apply the markdown you wish to apply but rather uses codes. Some of these markdowns are simply which you can memorize and apply whenever you wish to while others will require some time before you can get use to them. I will do my best to share some of the most used codes with you.
HEADERS OR TITLES
Headers or titles are the first things that will attract the attention of people to read your content or gives your reader an idea of what he or she is about to read, this is why headers or titles should be bold and visible to all.
To bolding text, you simply "#" to both the beginning of the text and the end of the text. There should be space between the "#" and the text, if you do not give space between them the results you seek to achieve in the end will not be achieved and this is mostly a major challenge faced by newbies.
For example;
If you want to bolden this word "ACHIEVEMENT" this is what you will do,
" # ACHIEVEMENT # "
" ## ACHIEVEMENT ## "
" ### ACHIEVEMENT ### "
"#### ACHIEVEMENT #### "
And this will be the results,
ACHIEVEMENT
ACHIEVEMENT
ACHIEVEMENT
ACHIEVEMENT
Please note that the number of #'s you add to a text will determine the font size of that particular text because the harshes also determines the font size of a text.
ITALICIZE
There are times in content creation when you will want to make more emphasis on a particular word or text, this feature helps you to make a text italicized and all you need to do is to add '*' to both the beginning and ending of the text without spaces in between them.
Example;
| * ACHIEVEMENT * will give ACHIEVEMENT
QUOTING
QUOTING is something we mostly do because we may find something interesting somewhere that you wish to add to your content. In quoting, we simply add > in to the front of the text.
For example;
" > I promise on my honor, to be faithful and loyal to Ghana my motherland. I pledge myself to the service of Ghana with all my strength and with all my heart."
Will give the results>>
I promise on my honor, to be faithful and loyal to Ghana my motherland. I pledge myself to the service of Ghana with all my strength and with all my heart."
ATTACHMENT OF LINKS
There are times you will want to attach a link of a page link to your content, all you need to do is to make good use of this "[ ] and this()". Simply open this [ write link or source then close ] and open ( paste the link and close ). Please note that there should be no space between this "]" and that "(".
For example;
[ Link ] no spacing (www.steemit.com)
And this will be the result>>
But you will only see this but when you click or tap on it, it will direct you to the Steemit page.
We should also know that when we are to add a Steemit user name and we attach @ to that name it becomes clickable and directs you to that user's Steemit account.
For example;
@nattybongo
@oppongk
@njaywan
@wunitira
It should be noted that there should be no space between the @ and the user's name.
CELLS CREATION
In cells creation or table creation, we make use of this "|" for the vertical spacing and "-" for the horizontal spacing.
Example;
Teaching | Teacher
"------------|--------------"
Farming | Farmer
Hospital | Doctor
Steemit | Steemian
And this will be the result >>
Teaching | Teacher |
---|---|
Farming | Farmer |
Hospital | Doctor |
Steemit | Steemian |
You can add as many as you want.
CREATING LINES BETWEEN TEXT OR SENTENCES
We use this " - " to create lines between sentences.
Example;
@timani is my Steemit account name.
"----------------------------------------"
I love Steemit because
"-----------------------------------------"
I learn from Steemit
"-----------------------------"
And also earn from Steemit
"---------------------------------------"

"-------------------------------------------------------"
[ LINK ] without spacing ( WWW.STEEMIT.COM/SIGN-UP )

I learn from Steemit
And also earn from Steemit

There are a whole lot of markdowns you can apply to your content which I can not write about all but you can read about them through this link Markdown codes or when you are making a post, there is " Markdown styling Guide " just below the content sheet which will direct you to a page where you can find the particular markdown code you want and apply
Please note that the quotation marks I put on my content is for illustration so don't add them when you are making your content.
