Achievement 4 by @thirdeye7771 Task : Applying Markdowns

in Newcomers' Community3 years ago

Hello guys. Am here once again on my achievements to talk about some basic markdowns.

I will start of by talking about headers. Headings are used to guide someone when he or she reads your post. To insert a headline you will need to put the # sign and a space at the beginning of the headline. And the more # signs you put the more the headline becomes smaller. For instance if i want to make the word STEEMIT as my heading, I will simply put # sign and a space in front of STEEMIT.

# STEEMIT 1

## STEEMIT 2

### STEEMIT 3

#### STEEMIT 4

If you apply the sign # as i have done above the result will be as follows .

STEEMIT 1

STEEMIT 2

STEEMIT 3

STEEMIT 4

So the more the # signs the smaller the headline.

Secondly i will be talking about how to add links in your post. There are three ways of adding links to our post.

  • First of all you can add links by using the @ sign. For instance if you add the @ sign to my user name thirdeye7771 the outcome will be @thirdeye7771. If you click on the user name it sends you straight to my profile.
  • Also you can directly copy the link of a post and paste it. For example i can copy the link of my profile and add it directly.
    https://steemit.com/@thirdeye7771
  • Lastly we can also hide the link in a text. For instance.

[My profile](https://steemit.com/@thirdeye7771)
The results of the above will be >>

My profile
And when you click on “ my profile” it sends you straight to my profile.

Tables can also be created using a very simple format. The format below can be used to create tables in a post . Using this basic signs, - and | .

Title 1 | Title 2
--------- | ----------
Text 1 | Text 2
--------- | ----------
Text 3 | Text 4

The results of the above outcome will be >>>

Title 1Title 2
Text 1Text 2
Text 3Text 4

My fourth markdown will be the Justify alignment. Using a story of how the greeks used a trojan horse to enter the city of troy to win a war. Without the justify command,

The Trojan Horse is the wooden horse used by the Greeks, during the Trojan War, to enter the city of Troy and win the war. There is no Trojan Horse in Homer's Iliad, with the poem ending before the war is concluded. But in the Aeneid by Virgil, after a fruitless 10-year siege, the Greeks at the behest of Odysseus constructed a huge wooden horse and hid a select force of men inside, including Odysseus himself. The Greeks pretended to sail away, and the Trojans pulled the horse into their city as a victory trophy. That night the Greek force crept out of the horse and opened the gates for the rest of the Greek army, which had sailed back under cover of night. The Greeks entered and destroyed the city of Troy, ending the war.

Using the justify command this same story will appear as using the format below;

<div class="text-justify">

With the justify command you can see the new format of the text above.

Lastly we sometimes need to see the codes someone may use in their post. You simply change the “ steemit” to “steemd” in the link. For instance in my achievement 3 post to see the code i used in the post you simply need to change it as shown in the links below.

It can be changed to>>

Thanks for reading my post. I hope to get your support @njaywan @cryptokannon
