in Newcomers' Community3 years ago (edited)

Hello All,

I have completed achievement tasks 1 and 2 and now going to write my achievement task 3 today.

What is Plagiarism:-
As per my understanding plagiarism is like copying the image/content/ from another place and creating your own content without giving credit to the original author who has created it by himself. By reading other authors' posts we can take the ideas on any topic if you are going to work on that but needs to be written in our word and create your own impressive content.

If you use an image that was captured by another photographer who gives his 100% effort and countless time to just capture a memorable image if you use that and pretend that you did a great job that's not gonna work. There are many software and technologies that will catch that this is Plagiarism.

There are different types of plagiarism that I am going to explain all one by one:

Complete plagiarism:- If doing copy any other author content end to end is called complete plagiarism. You did not put your effort to write your own content just copied and paste the whole content and represent it as your own content which is coming under complete plagiarism. Below the example, you can see how I have used other authors' content but provided the source link of the original post.

Auto plagiarism:- In this, if the author used his/her own previous content or published work's significant portion in his/her any other publication. In this, no one going to complain about it but before considering it for review will check the plagiarism through the plagiarism verify tool.

Accidental plagiarism:- Sometimes people are not aware and unintended they do the mistakes which come under accidental plagiarism. Mainly students does such kinds of mistakes because they are not aware of plagiarism.

Disadvantage of plagiarism:-

  1. Lose the reputation.
  2. Author can face legal action for this.
  3. It will impact your name/fame once you come under plagiarism
  4. It can be down your value in the market and all publications could be rejected.

How to avoid plagiarism:-

  1. Don't copy the sentences from other authors' posts.
  2. If copied the sentence from other authors' posts please provide the source link of original content from where you have copied.
  3. After writing the post check the plagiarism in the plagiarism checker to avoid duplication.
  4. Either you can just mention the author's name in your post if using his/her sentence in your post.

This is how you can save yourself from plagiarism.

Citation
So now the question is how we can take precautions from copyright.

They called it the Olympics like no other and India would agree as debutant javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra shattered several glass ceilings to become the country's first gold medallist in 13 years, his stupendous show making it the best ever Games for a nation starved for success at the grandest sporting spectacle. With the addition of Chopra's gold on the last day of their competitive schedule, India signed off with seven medals in all, including two silver and four bronze, the last of which was delivered by superstar wrestler Bajrang Punia on the day."source

In the above examples, you can see I have provided a source link to sentences and images because these contents are not mine so I have provided a source link from where I have copied. So that it will not come under plagiarism.

There are some websites that provide you with free images for your content that you can use without using citations.
