Security is a basic requirement for any system to function properly. Security is essential to protect our data, information, transactions and privacy in business, commerce and many other professions. This is also required on the steemit platform. We need security to protect our transactions, data and information and to prevent loss. We can lose control of our wallet by losing our keys, which can be a worse situation for us. So in this post, we will learn the basic things we need to be safe on steemit.

I have stored keys in many places, such as on my laptop, Google Drive, on a sheet of paper, USB, and in my email account. We have to keep our keys because if we lose them once it is very difficult to recover them so I have kept mine perfectly in many places to protect them and avoid their manipulation.

POSTING KEY

This key is used to perform social actions like blogging, comments, upvotes, mute posts or pin posts, etc. on the steemit platform. All these functions are performed with the help of publishing keys which assist with publishing. So, in this way, it is the most important key. You can also find the main function in the PDF file of your steem account key.

ACTIVE KEY

This is another important key used to turn on, off, transact and other wallet transfer activities and receive rewards.

OWNER KEY

This is used for account recovery actions. It is also used to change all keys, including itself.

MEMO KEY

This key is used to create a note that is used to send and receive encrypted messages privately.

MASTER PASSWORD

This is the most important password. It is also reset all other keys. We get this password when we log into our steemit account or when we create our new account. This is the base password to access all other account keys. Then it is the most important password and we have to keep the password safe.

How do you keep to plan to your Master password?

The master password is the password that we obtain when we create our steemit account. This password is important in this aspect that if we lose all our keys it can help us in the recovery. So I carefully save my master password in various places on my laptop, Google Drive, Gmail, and also keep my files on printed paper.
