Achievement 6 Task by @silencewan : Understanding Curation and Community

Hello everyone, It interests me today to actually work on my achievement 6 task today. Although it has not been so easy doing this achievement task due to the long process in the verification earlier. But I believe it has been great after the reforms were made. Verification is now so fast and simple. I really want to thank @cryptokannon for such a wonderful job done.

First and foremost, I want to say a very big thank you to @cryptokannon for simplifying the achievement tasks, I must say that I have really learned a lot from your posts and I have in fact had experience now about how the steemit ecosystem works in regard to all what curation is about and also the communities.

How Voting and Curation Works on steemit.

The steemit blockchain is built on the basis of this voting and curating post, although is not a mandate to curate or vote on a post but quality contents that are created in this blockchain need to be curated or voted on. In @cryptokannon's summary, she made it known that quality content will be voted on.

Unlike other social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram where voting is done to contents people post. It is the same in the steemit blockchain but a little different here, here in the steemit blockchain, you get rewarded once your quality post is being voted on.

Once you vote on a post, there is a distribution of rewards from the reward pool to the authors of the post and this voting process is what we call curating. Here for an author to get enough rewards, it will depend solely on the curator's steem power. Once your stem power is high, your curations increase, and once is low you have very little curation. But there is a case of you powering up to increase your voting power.

As stated in the summary of @cryptokannon, the voting mana is made in such a manner that, the user has the ability to vote and also manipulate the vote cast. The voting mana is set to 100% at its initial stage and there is a deduction of 2% per every vote which is being cast at full power of 100%

Voting or curating on post leads to a decrease in the voting power, from @cryptokannon's summary, I have learned that the more users you vote the voting mana carries less influence so, therefore, it is necessary to allow it to recharge, and it recharges 20% every day.

When voting, 50% of the rewards go to the curator and 50% go to the author of the post.

What happened if you vote for a post before 5 minutes marks after posting?

In this regard, you will understand that the curator benefits a 100% of the reward after 5 minutes of making a posting

Who will you vote for Steem Witness ? and Why?

The steem blockchain platform is designed in such a way that every 3 seconds new blocks are created and this creation of new blocks is done by witnesses. There is a block that is being produced by 20 full-time witnesses every 63 seconds. Also, there are 21 witnesses involved in the last witnesses which makes up to a total of 21 witnesses. These witnesses are shared by backup witnesses and witnesses are paid with steem power for each block they create.

Here, I will vote for @steemchiller and @justyy as the steem witnesses. I choose to vote for this two because they are really trying their possible best to create tools like https://steemyy.org/ and https://steemworld.org/ respectively, to help assist and make the steem blockchain platform simpler to use and also creating of blocks on the steem blockchain. They really worth all the vote as my chosen witnesses.

Which community will you join in Steemit, and why?

There are so many communities on the steem platform, I have chosen to join a few I can really adhere to all their rules and regulations. That is the key important notice to take care of, adhering to rules and regulations. My reason for joining these communities are as follows.

1. Newcomers' Community: I chose to join this community so I could have access to all my achievements tasks to help aid my stay on steem successful

2. SteemitCryptoAcademy: This community I have chosen because I want to learn and have much knowledge about cryptocurrencies and also how to trade with these cryptocurrencies as well.

3. PromoSteem community: This community is really an interesting one because it deals with whatever is related to the promotion of steem which I enjoy most. I spend part of my time always trying to promote the steem platform which is interesting to do.

4. Steem Ghana: This is really necessary for every newbie from Ghana. Once I am a Ghanaian, I have to partake in my countries community.

5. World Of Football: This is the hard work of @njaywan, is really an interesting community. Where most of the arguments concerning football and related sports are discussed. What the youth like most now.

Conclusion

I will conclude by giving another kudos to @cryptokannon for the wonderful works done. Thanks also for reading my post and I'm hoping my achievement task would be verified as soon.
