Achievement 2 : Basic Security on Steem by @shallymursalina

Hello Steemian friends. Glad to be here again doing my second achievement. All I hope is I can always share postings to this platform and get communicate with you all.

In this post I return to complete Achievement 2 about basic safety, which is knowledge about basic security on Steemit which includes several questions, including:

1. Have you got all your keys on Steemit?
   Yes. I have got all the keys on Steemit and save them to my drive. They are: Master Key, Owner Key, Active key, Posting key and Memo Key.

2. Do you know each of these main functions and limitations?
   Yes. I’ve known all the main functions of these keys.

Master Key
This secret is the most vital key of this platform. This is the most important key among all the other keys, it is not unusual to enter your wallet and this key can also change different keys, it must be unbroken, keep it in a private folder or in hardcopy so that it will never act.

Owner Key
This basic password that is only used when needed.

Active Key
This password used for some rather sensitive processes such as transferring STEEM/SBD, doing Power Up/Down, converting SBD that is in the Steemit account Wallet.

Posting Key
This password used for the Steemit account login process

Memo Key
This password used to encrypt and decrypt memos when transferring funds. When using Memo Key, use the previous /# sign.

1. How do you plan to keepyour master key password?
   I keep it in as a soft file and hard file. I saved to my cloud account and mail account and also to my flashdisk.

2. Do you know how to transfer your STEEM/SBD to another Steemit user?
   Yes I do. To make a STEEM/SBD transfer, the first thing to note is that you have logged in to your Wallet using the Posting Key. The way is as following:

• Click on the wallet menu

• Click the arrow next to STEEM/SBD

• Click Transfer

Then a display appears:

Then select the STEEM/SBD coin that we will transfer, enter the name of the Steemit account for the transfer destination, enter the number of coins we will transfer and enter the memo, click confirm and finally enter the Active Key input.

1. Do you know how to Power Up/Down your STEEM?

a. Power Up

• Click on the wallet menu as above
• Click the arrow next to STEEM

• Click Power Up

Then a display appears:

Power Down

Power Down is an attempt to pull Steem Power into Steem, here are the steps:

• Click on the wallet menu as above
• Click the arrow next to STEEM in the Steem Power column.

• Click Power Down

Then a display appears:

Finally, enter the amount of STEEM that you want to Power Down, then click the Power Down button. In the process of doing a power down, this effort will be completed within 4 weeks.
