Hi all...! It's me again with my third post to Steemit after completing achievement 1 and 2. So, this is my post for achievement 3 and as you already know, it is about plagiarism and citation. 👀

So let me complete the task...!

The best thing is to do your own work when you do something. Then, it will be a original work. However, when we do documentary work like assignments, researches, literature reviews, articles, post etc., we have to take some parts from others work that has been done previously and have some links to our work.

Sometimes, we copy and paste things from others work. Or, you may paraphrase or quote things from different sources. At that time, if we don't mention the source, then it is an illegal thing though we don't pay much attention to this sometimes. 🤐

Whatever the thing we take from another source, it can be a text, picture, graph or anything else need to be cited correctly. This is like giving them credit for their work. Be thankful man..! They have made your work easier up to some extend. 😍

What if we do not mention the source for the work that we took from others? As I mentioned before, it is a crime or an illegal thing. This is called as plagiarism. So, how can we avoid plagiarism?

"Simply acknowledging that certain material has been borrowed and providing your audience with the information necessary to find that source is usually enough to prevent plagiarism.." ^Source

This method of acknowledging is called citation. 🤗🤗

So, whenever you take something from others work make sure to provide correct references for that particular thing. It is an act of giving credits for the person who deserve it. Also this helps other readers to know more about that particular thing by simply visiting to the provided source.

I think I have provided enough details to complete my task. So, I'm going to end up my work for today.
