What is plagiarism

To me plagiarism is stealing someone's intellectual property. It may be his work or idea. If you take any ones creation without giving him credit then it’s also plagiarism. So we should try to avoid it strictly.

Kinds of plagiarism

There are different kinds of plagiarism in digital world.I will discuss about some most common plagiarism which occurs most often.

Direct plagiarism

Direct plagiarism is the most shameful act. It is copy from someone's work word by word. Without include anything from him. This is punishable crime. The deliberate plagiarism of someone else's work is unethical, academically dishonest, and grounds for disciplinary actions. In steemit there are few kinds of punishment for this kinds of act. Such as down voting or mute him.

Self plagiarism

Self plagiarism is using your own work where it is told not to use old work. Such as there is mentioned that you can't use your previously posted element in this post. Inspite of knowing that if you use your old work that is self plagiarism.

Mosaic Plagiarism

Mosaic Plagiarism occurs when a student borrows phrases from a source without using quotation marks, or finds synonyms for the author’s language while keeping to the same general structure and meaning of the original work.

Accidental plagiarism

Accidental plagiarism is unintentionally making plagiarism. Such as using Someone's creation without giving him credit or citing the actual source. Even doing any similar kinds of act unknowingly. Accidental plagiarism is also prohibited like any other plagiarism. But i have got a different view about accidental plagiarism. If you tell a bunch of students write something about a cow. Then what will they write? Every one have to write that the cow has four legs, two ears and a tail. For avoiding plagiarism what they can do? Should they write cow has six legs? So i think in this case responsible person should be a bit soft. Thats all form me.
