The Mathematics Departmental Election
An election is the process of voting to choose someone to be their political leader or representative in government.

The Mathematics departmental election for the academic year 2021/2022 was held on Sunday the 27th of June 2021. This was in order to elect a new bureau to be in charge of all affairs of the department in the next academic year. Two parties were contesting; the Integral Party and the Epsilon - Delta Party. The election was hosted by the outgoing president and supervised by the President of the Student Association and some of his bureau members.
The bureau of each party consisted of the following:
- President
- Vice President
- Secretary General
- Vice Secretary General
- Treasurer
- Financial Secretary
- Public Relations Officer
- Sport Coordinator
- Vice Sport Coordinator
- Socio Cultural Officer
- Vice Socio Cultural Officer
- Technical Adviser
- Academic Officer
- General Organiser
- Assistant General Organiser
Analysis of the President of the Epsilon - Delta Party
Analysis of the President of the Integral Party
This party's president was a year two student. His bureau members were mostly his classmates as well. His goals were similar to that of the other president, but he emphasized more on how the mathematics students could benefit from the department and not what he will get the department to do for them. He oozed a lot of charisma though his speech bordered on informal as he used slang like "yo" and "you wise na". Nevertheless,his speech was well crafted with quotes, humour and purpose and was properly delivered.
The Election proper
Due to a press for time, the election was to be conducted by anonymous handshow and supervised by the President of the Student Association and some of his bureau members. All heads were bowed down and votes were counted.
Results
The results of the election were as written below.

The Integral party won with a majority vote of 67%. Thus, they will be in charge of the departmental affairs next academic year.
