Hello steemians, after careful examination and proper understanding of the instructions given by @cryptokannon, I present my achievement 3 post which has to do with plagiarism in relation to what we post on Steemit.

"Plagiarism means: to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own : use (another's production) without crediting the source." Source
The presence of the word ‘’steal’’ in this definition, includes situations where someone else’s ideas or words are deliberately used without proper citation to the source. Even accidentally using another’s ideas or words without proper citation maybe due to negligence, falls under this definition because your work tries to ‘’show off’’ another person’s work as yours.
In situations where you use images or contents that are not yours, be sure to quote the source of the image or content.

Consequences of Plagiarism
• Posting copied content could cause you to loose valuable professional referrals and future career advancement.
• You will be violating copyright law and thus can be legally prosecuted.
• Articles without proper citation where necessary are seen as copyright violation and will be down-voted by community members.
How to avoid Plagiarism
Cite your source
• When posting an image, make sure you have all the rights to use such image, also add the image link.
• When alluding to an idea or wording that is not yours, add a citation in your article that points directly to the source.
Include quotations
• If you paste words verbatim into your article, one of the easiest way to avoid plagiarism is to add quotation marks around the text to show that the words are not yours.
• A direct quote should also cite the source of the content so that those reading may know who the quote is from.
Present your own idea
Instead of repeating someone else’s ideas , why not make your own unique perspective, and also save yourself the headache which plagiarism can cause.
