ACHIEVEMENT 6 TASK by @rapharchick : UNDERSTANDING CURATION AND COMMUNITY

Steem greetings once again to all fellow steemians and all members of this wonderful community. I'm so excited to present to you this achievement 6 post after a very long while and without any waste of time lets proceed to it...

1. HOW VOTING AND CURATION WORKS ON STEEMIT

Every post published on the platform has and expiry duration of 7 days after which the payout is being divided between the curators and the author on a 50/50 basis. The author is the creator of the post and receives 50% of the amount on the post while curators are those who upvoted the post the other 50% are shared amongst them.

**VOTING A POST BEFORE IT MARKS 5 MINUTES AFTER POSTING

When you vote a post before 5 minutes marks after posting, you will loose part of your curation reward and the part which is lost goes to the reward pool.

Here on steemit, a post is entiled to ONE OF THE 2 KINDS OF EXISTING VOTES. IT WILL EITHER BE AN UPVOTE OR A DOWNVOTE. If you like a post/content, you appreciate the content by upvoting. If you have more SP (Steem Power), your vote will have a large influence on the rewards than the user with less SP. It also depends on the voting manna you hold. It is initially set to 100%. For every 100% vote you cast will use 2% of your remaining voting mana. It gets recharged by 20% each day.

Downvotes are a critical function from a game theoretical perspective. Rendering a downvote is technically just a user expressing their opinion that a post is not in favor of their accredition. A post/content can get downvote for any reason, most of the time if posts are abusive or post doesn't follow defined guidelines. It is up to you if you want to follow this etiquette. Also, users may leave a comment explaining why they downvoted, but sometimes they might not. If there is a reason mention in a comment, you can check if you did something wrong and if that can be improved. Below is a tabular explanation of the curation reward % and the time.

**WHO WILL YOU VOTE FOR STEEM WITNESSES AND WHY
I’m going to vote @ray.wu because he created @steemdb.io which has helped me know more about how the database operates. Also, i will vote @steemchiller reason being that he made @steemworld.org and @justyy made @steemyy.com . I cannot over emphasize the importance of these tools as they have helped me know a lot while doing my Achievement 5 tasks. Witnesses are usually selected by the steem communities in order to create blocks for the steemit blockchain.
