Greetings to everyone. As we all know, it is important to know about the varrious keys on steemit, as well as how to prrseve and safeguard them from cyber insecurities that leads to frauds. This post will help us to be security conscious as well as adopt different measures on stemit block chain platform.

Here are each of the functions of these keys 🔑

ACTIVE KEY

The active key is used to carry out some sensitive task like transferring funds, to power up and down transactions, converting steem dollars, voting for witnesses etc.

PRIVATE POSTING KEY/PASSWORD

For a perfect understanding, the posting key allowscone to access his or her account . Also to post, edit, comment, vote, resteem, follow other accounts etc.

OWNERS KEY

This is a very important key and so must be kept safe because it can be used to recover a compromised or hacked account. It can also be used to change the key of an account .

THE PRIVATE MASTER KEY/PASSWORD

This is another important/powerful key that should be kept safe because this key has all the security module. It can also be uded to generate all other keys as well as retrieve them like posting key and active key

PRIVATE MEMO KEY / PASSWORD

This key is used for encrypting and decrypting memos when transferring funds. This key should be kept private and out of access from a third party account

I have practised how to transfer funds to another user using my active key, and i also practised how to create memo for transfers

I first clicked on my wallet, then i clicked on the 3 bars at the top right hand corner, then i singned in by inputing my username and my active key. I then clicked on the steem dollar drop down arrow. Then i inputed the user name of the person i want to transfer to . I also created a memo, and confirmed it with my active key as seen in the picture above.

CONCLUSION

_ Never loose your passwords
_ Do not share your passwords with a third party website
_ Remember to always keep your passwords private and if possible store them as printed copies, in flash drive or on cloud.
_ Make sure to backup your password
