Plagiarism is simply an act of showcasing Someones in your own work without their consent or knowledge.

TYPES OF PLAGIARISM

These are the type of plagiarism.

  • Direct plagiarism
  • Para-phrasive plagiarism
  • Source-based plagiarism
  • Complete plagiarism
  • Self plagiarism

DIRECT PLAGIARISM: this is the type of plagiarism where one takes some part of someone's work and adds it to his or her own work.

PARA-PHRASIVE PLAGIARISM: this is an act where one makes slight changes from the original work.

SOURCE BASED PLAGIARISM: this is an act of taking contents/images from the internet with sourcing it.

COMPLETE PLAGIARISM: this is the worst type of plagiarism, copying the full work of another, word to word.

SELF PLAGIARISM: this is the type of plagiarism where one copies his or her old work without referencing it.

FACTORS THAT CAUSES PLAGIARISM

Major factors that causes plagiarism are

  • ICT
  • Academic work
  • Regulations

ICT: this is a major factor, you can access data through the internet and the worst part of it is that, you can do this through common devices like phones and laptops making people prefer copying internet works instead of using main ideas.

ACADEMIC WORK: this is also a factor, we all know the academic field is full of pressure, so for students to meet up, they prefer doing plagiarism works rather than theirs.

REGULATIONS: it is also a factor due to the fact that there are no laid down laws concerning plagiarism.
