Security mostly refers to protection from hostile forces , it is also seen as resilience against potential damage or harm caused by others and beneficiaries of this security maybe of persons , social groups , objects , ecosystem or any other entity vulnerable to unwanted change.
Steemit is an ecosystem with different persons as beneficiaries, with so many vital things to protect to survive in the ecosystem and protection is required from this persons.
WHAT ARE THE STEEMIT KEYS TO PROTECT.
This keys are passwords design particularly for each individual in the ecosystem. With this keys so many problems are solved, safety is gained if protected from unauthorized persons. The keys are
Master key
Owner key
Posting key
Active key
Memo key
Each has a different functions and need to be protected . So keep your mouth shut , don't tell anyone your keys or passwords.

Let me explain this keys uses, function and why it must be protected.
MASTER KEY:
Just the name tells you what it is. It the master key , it is use to generate all other key. It mostly use but necessary when u want to recover you account . This key is gotten upon signing up, with it you can retrieve other keys .
ACTIVE KEY: it is necessarily used for transfers , power up and down transaction, voting and placing a market order.
POSTING KEY.
This key is often use, it is a key use for posting , commenting, editing and to resteem. It is for everyday logins .
MEMO KEY: This key is used for encryption of memos when transferring funds.
OWNER KEY: This key is not used regularly , it is used when necessary,not like posting key
