Plagiarism simply refers to the act of copying someone’s work and presenting it as your own work without the owner’s knowledge or citation. Plagiarism is a bad academic practice and mount to punishment such as; suspension, confiscation of certificate, low grading points, failure and among other, so it is advisable to acknowledge or cite a work you did not actually worked for, inorder to ensure genuine work.
CITATION
Citation simply refers to the act of acknowledging or giving credit to a writer’s work after copying for your readers to know that some of your words came from different source. There are different forms of citation and they are; MODERN LANGUAGE ASSOCIATION (MLA), AMERICAN PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION (APA) and CHICAGO, which support two styles. You can cite it by using Quotation marks, Paraphrasing and providing the source of the work.
